I am presently working as Psychotherapist in the Ambedkar University Delhi. In my 15 years of practice I have worked with individuals, couples, children, families and groups experiencing psychological distress. I also teach and supervises MA and M.phil students. Prior to joining the academia, I have worked in the social sector for more than 9 years where I have worked on several social issues such as drug abuse, HIV/AIDS, street children, homeless people,child sexual abuse, terrorism and violence. I have trained groups of lay counselors working at the grass root.
I have been selected to present a paper titled The joureny from School to the University: Some reflections on the work in a University Clinic at 4th European Conference on Child and Adolescent Mental Health in Educational Settings in Lausanne, Switzerland. Presented a paper titled Violence: At the Cusp of Socio-Political at Centenary Conference, University of Calcutta Oct 2015. This paper was chosen for the best paper award. Presented a paper titled Other(ed) Community: A Clinical Discourse at The Third International Conference, Ambedkar University Delhi. Participated in several research studies done on Nithari bomb blast victims, invited to be a panelist in colleges of Delhi University and other government and non government institutions. Currently I am working on my doctoral thesis on the phenomenon of terrorism. I also maintains private practice.
