I offer an M.A. in Clinical Psychology (2009) and M.A. in Psychology (Clinical major, 2007) along with extensive experience in India and the US working with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples and families in a variety of settings (university, school, hospital and multi-disciplinary mental health clinics). Having practiced for over 7 years, my multicultural experience has sensitized me to various concerns, bringing in a unique perspective to my approach. Counseling with an eclectic orientation enables me to draw from various techniques such as cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, transactional analysis, gestalt and existential therapies, depending on the specific nature of the concern. I have also successfully completed a 40-hour training program to become a sexual assault counselor and an advocate. My experiences have made me develop a comfort in working with core clinical concerns including anxiety and panic, depression, marital and family conflicts, LGBT issues, sexual concerns, adult and child sexual abuse, domestic violence, personality problems, suicidal ideations and self harm, OCD & PTSD, self esteem issues and other emotional concerns. I am proficient at administering and interpreting personality tests (MCMI, MMPI), IQ tests (WISC, WAIS), and projective tests (ROR, TAT, CAT).
