Hi, I am a 23 year old girl. I have a problem regarding vaginal lubrication and orgasm, in spite of sexual arousal. Is it curable? If yes, then kindly suggest me some way out. Thank you!
Expert advice –
Yes of course, it can be treated.
Lubrication & Orgasmic disorder in women occurs due to:
1. Physical Problems (Hormonal Imbalance, Pelvic inflammations & Infections, Pelvic Surgeries, Post Menopausal) etc
2. Psychological Reasons which is the commonest (Lack of fantasy, Lack of intimacy with the partner, anxiety, guilt, or fear during sexual activity etc. Also, sexual orientation (lesbianism) can also result in dry vagina)
3. Partner Reasons: Lack of adequate foreplay, Pre mature ejaculation and Erectile dysfunction, Bad odor of partner etc can also cause lack of lubrication and Anorgasmia (persistent inability to achieve orgasm despite responding to sexual stimulation.)
Proper Physical, Mental & Partner evaluation is required to manage the dysfunction.
For physical causes, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Artificial Water based lubricants, Treatment of Partner's sexual dysfunction etc will help. If physical problems are ruled out, Sex therapy is the treatment of choice.
